Have you ever had a dream that came true?

This is taken from a blog I wrote on January 6, 2001 (that would be my senior year of high school for those of you who don't really know me):

I had a dream about my first day in college.  I walked into my dorm room and my roommate had taken the liberty of filling both closets with her clothes.  It was a pretty big room for a dorm. For a UC dorm, anyhow.  I didn't even know what college I was in until I asked [April].  It was UCI.  For some reason, about half my friends were attending UCI, and they were all in my room along with my ghetto roommate and a bunch of her ghetto friends.  I remember thinking Why couldn't I have gotten a good roommate like Kat did?  I was about to walk w/ a friend to his dorm to see where it was when I woke up.  I think I'm getting a little too college-obsessed.

And April and I did in fact end up attending UCI even though she was somewhat disinclined to go there at the time I had the dream.  I did not, however, have a ghetto roommate.  I lived with April :D

Have you ever had plastic or elective surgery? Did you tell anyone? Why or why not?

this is possibly one of the stupidest questions i've seen.  who the hell is going to say "yes i had plastic surgery...no i didn't tell anyone!" because why the hell would anyone not tell anyone about the surgery unless they wanted no one to know? 

If you could eat anything you wanted, and not have to worry about gaining weight/being unhealthy/inhumane, what would you totally pig out on?

ummm i think a better question would be what wouldn't i eat?  i love/hate food and food loves me.  unfortunately.

What was your worst cooking experience?

Making okonomiyaki a few years ago.  I was having trouble cutting a cabbage in half so I put a decent amount of my weight on the knive at which point i halved the cabbage and sliced my little finger.  Sucker didn't stop bleeding completely until the next day. 

The cool thing is, because of the light scarring I think I altered my fingerprint (maybe)

What's the story behind a time when you got locked out?

scatterbrained as i am, i don't remember ever being locked out of my home or car.  my brother, on the other hand, once locked his keys in his trunk and i had to drive out to irvine a day early (no biggie, but still) a day early to give him the spare...haha.  an ex once locked his keys in his car with the engine running.  i think he had locked his keys in the car (on campus) two or three times within the space of a week. 

i have, however, have locked myself out of numerous accounts (voicemail, bank, verizon online, etc) because i keep forgetting my passwords.  i am the suck.

What is your current obsession(s)?

Shoe shopping  I really really need a new pair of brown or camel colored heels.  3 1/2 inches or higher, please.  No ankle straps (I have short, chunky legs) and I'd prefer it if it were something that my narrow heels won't slide out of...!

Bic Runga because I'm going to see her later this month!

Food because I like to eat and wine because I like to drink.  Must keep that obssession in check, though, because I'm gaining weight ;P

What's your favorite blend or brand of coffee or tea?

My favorite tea is cheap-o yama moto yama genmaicha, $1.29 for 16 tea bags.  It smells so good and senbei-ish when the hot water first hits it.

When I was still a coffee drinker I used to always get Starbucks tall, iced, nonfat, upside-down caramel macchiato...sometimes with 1 or two extra shots of espresso.  I also liked Diedrich's mochas...except now Diedrich has been bought out by Starbucks or something :(  I think there's one in Irvine that's going to stick around for a couple of years or so due to some sort of lease contract, though.

If you could write like one fiction author, who would it be?

Banana Yoshimoto!  I don't know what it is about her writing...but it just feels good :)  It's just a little bit whimsical.  Of course, can only read the translations so there's a good chance that I have a slightly skewed view of what her writing is really like =\
